Learning Reimagined
for Education Revolutionaries

recorded at theater amsterdam- march 26th 2015

What does a revolution in education actually look like? What would the goals of such a revolution be and what would be the new status quo once the revolution is complete?

In this talk, presented in Amsterdam at the TEDxAmsterdamED event on March 26th, I discuss the "revolution" theme of the event through the lens of the experiences gained during my 2 year Learning {Re}imagined research programme.

I discuss 6 areas; context, environment, engagement, technology, assessment and the future. I conclude that before we can see a revolution in education we need a revolution in society that is focused not on GDP and global competitiveness but on the real challenges faced by our children and their children in this century.

  Citizen Science
science in the community

During March and April a "Citizen Science" pilot will be conducted in the London Borough of Lambeth with a cohort of 50 primary school children, their parents, teachers and members of the local community.

Supported with internet connected sensors and activity trackers this unique project uses the "Internet of Things" to flip the science laboratory and encourage a multi-generational learning and conversation about air quality, well-being and health.
